Ulysses Guillermo

Ulysses Eugenio “GINO” Guillermo, 71, of Hilo died May 22, 2017, in Hilo. Born Nov. 28, 1945, in Knoxville, Tenn., he retired as a flight attendant with Hawaiian Airlines.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. June 9 at Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo with a 6 p.m. service.

He is survived by wife, Cynthia Guillermo; sons, Nogi Guillermo, Cyrus Abiley and Angelito (Opihi) Guillermo; daughter, Hera Guillermo; brothers, Boyd Williams, Anthony Williams, Lawrence Williams and Anthony Flack; sisters, Emeral Price, Maudie Williams-Duarte, Gloria Williams-Rodgers and Vanessa Quarks, eight grandchildren, one uncle; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rodney Feliciano

Rodney “Rod” Feliciano, 68, of Kapaau died June 1, 2017, at Hospice of Kona Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Kohala, he was a retired security guard for various security firms, had also worked for Dodo Mortuary, was a Navy Vietnam War veteran and member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Kohala Okinawa Kenjin Kai.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. June 10 at the Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Bea Feliciano of Kapaau; sons, Keone (Kelly Gray) Feliciano of Bellevue, Neb., Jason Feliciano of Kapaau; brother, Ernest Feliciano of Baja California, Mexico; sister, Lillian (Rufino) Gildore of Henderson, Nev.; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Merasol Hoopii Sr.

Merasol Albert “Rusty” Hoopii, Sr., 88, of Hilo died May 16, 2017, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Facility in Hilo.Born May 18, 1928, in Hilo, he was a janitorial worker for CW Maintenance Co. in Hilo and a member of the Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church.

Friends may call for visitation from 9-11 a.m. June 10 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo with an 11 a.m. service. Aloha attire. Cremation will follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory.

He is survived by daughters, Sandra (Sidney) Masaoka of Hawaiian Beaches, Mercel Hoopii (Michael) Tallett of Waiakea Uka, Cindy (Brian) Miller and Joylyne (Blake) Doll of Hilo, Jamie (Thomas) Kailiawa III of Pahala and Robin (Scotty) Wong of Keaukaha; sons, Cary (Charlene) Hoopii of Panawea, Merasol Hoopii Jr. of Hilo and Arrke (Anela) Hoopii of Keaukaha; hanai son, Brandon (Melissa) Respicio of Hilo; sister, Violet Betonio of Waipahu, Oahu; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Torae Odani

Torae Odani, 95, of Keaau died May 23, 2017, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Aug. 18, 1921, in Pepeekeo, she was a Bible teacher and member of the Keaau Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. June 10 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo with a 5 p.m. service. Casual attire and no flowers.

She is survived by son, Glenn (Patti) Odani of Hilo; daughters, Miriam Odani of Keaau and Laverne (Don) Burdge of Los Angeles; brother, Ernest (Katherine) Sasaki of Pepeekeo; sister, Michie (Eichi) Okajima of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosalinda Waipa

Rosalinda Real Waipa, 74, of Kurtistown died April 16, 2017. Born Feb. 14, 1943, in Olaa, she retired from Quintal Farms.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. June 10 at Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo with a noon service.

She is survived by sons, Lee (Donna Malson) Hardy, Amos (Nikki Kyser) Ayap and Ben Ayap of Las Vegas; daughters, Helen Medeiros, Tay (Ellison) Aceret; hanai daughter, Charlene Soares; stepsons, Randy, Derek and Donald Waipa of Oahu; stepdaughter, Cindy Waipa of Oahu; sister, Carolina (Gene) Tomoguchi of Irvine, Calif.; 11 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren.

Aniceta Amazona

Aniceta Domingo Amazona, 84, of Kealakekua died May 17, 2017, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born Nov. 26, 1932, in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a macadamia nut sorter for K. Oue, Ltd. and a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. June 10 at the Keauhou Kingdom Hall at 78-6955 Mamalahoa Highway in Holualoa. The family request casual attire and no flowers.

She is survived by sons, Edwin (Dorothy) Amazona of Kailua-Kona, Loreto (Bembe) Amazona of the Philippines, and Rodolfo (Nonita) Amazona, Rolando (Irma) Amazona and Rodel (Melba) Amazona, all of Kailua-Kona, and Rowell (Cecille) Amazona of Kealakekua; daughters, Solidad Molina of Philippines and Belinda Amazona of Kealakekua; brother, Inocencio (Norma) Domingo of the Philippines; sister, Leonara (Pedro) Arizabal of Honolulu; 30 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
