Mulch not available at Kealakehe Saturday

The Kealakehe mulch public pick-up area will be closed Saturday because a large turnout for the household hazardous waste collection event is anticipated.

The division would like to apologize for any inconvenience that this closure may cause. Mulch loading will be available on Sunday.

Soroptimists meet Tuesday

Soroptimist International of Kona will meet from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in the West Hawaii Community Health Center conference room.

Students graduate University of Northern Colorado

Three West Hawaii students were among those who received degrees from the University of Northern Colorado during spring 2017 commencement ceremonies May 5-6.

Sean Ikaika Kamanakai Duim of Kailua-Kona earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration: finance. Jordelle Amber Antonio of Kapaau earned a bachelor of science in human services and Kristine May Ramos Antonio of Kapaau completed a Bachelor of Science in human services.
