A section of Highway 19 in Honokaa was closed for short time Monday afternoon after responders contained a vehicle and brush fire.

Fire crews extinguished the fire with the assistance of Chopper 1. A fully engulfed vehicle that ignited brush along the highway was responsible for the blaze that quickly spread to pastureland and eucalyptus forest due to strong gusty winds.

There were no injuries and approximately 10 acres were affected. It is unknown what caused the vehicle fire, the Hawaii Fire Department said in a incident release.
