Sinne Tokuhara

Sinne J. Tokuhara, 68, of Waikoloa died June 14, 2017, at her residence. Born June 3, 1949, in Yekof, Lelu, Kosrae Island, she was a housekeeper and a member of the Kona Kosrae Congregational Church.

Services were held.

She is survived by daughter, Leilani (Kun) Sigrah of Waikoloa; sons, Jeffrey (Julie) Jacklick of Kauai, Jackson (Rihanna) Tokuhara of Waikoloa, Marcus (Lana) Tokuhara of Kailua-Kona, and Mac (Nemily) Tokuhara of Kosrae; sister, Marcilline (Maave) Tupua of Florida; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Edward Uemura

Edward Akinobu Uemura, 78, of Mililani, Oahu, died June 20,2017. Born in Hilo, he was a retired warehouseman at Jorgensen Steel Co.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. July 16 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary with an 11 a.m. service. Casual attire. No flowers

He is survived by wife, Jean (Kanbe) Uemura of Mililani, Oahu; son, Sean (Jaimee Ann) Uemura of Mililanim Oahu; one grandson; brother, Ted (Jane) Uemura of Concord, Calif.; sisters, Madeline Tanaka of Dededo, Guam and Ellen Tanioka of Waikele; numerous nephews and nieces.

Karen Carder

Karen M. Carder died June 15, 2017, at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Born May 31, 1951, on Maui, she worked with the West Hawaii AIDS Foundation and was a member of a halau.

A celebration of life will be announced.

She is survived by husband, John Carder; sons, Derek Hong, Allen Hong and Michael Hong; two grandchildren.

George Humphries

George Hulsey Humphries, 77, of Ocean View died May 18, 2017, at his residence. Born Oct. 13, 1939, in Clark, Arkansas, he was a case manager for the Alaska State Health and Human Services. and an Air Force veteran. He was also a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.), U.S. Sergeant Association, NRA, and Heritage Foundation.

Private services were held.

He is survived by wife, Nobuko Humphries of Ocean View; sons, Tyrone (Yoko) Humphries of Kailua-Kona, and Kenny Humphries of Ocean View; daughters, Amy (John) Carter of Alaska, and Tammy (Mark) Presenthiener of Virginia; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Sally Gerhart

Sally Louise Turner Gerhart, 72, of Holualoa died June 28, 2017, in Holualoa. Born July 22, 1944, in Glendale, Calif., she was a computer programmer in tech communications.

She is survived by spouse, Daniel; daughter, Theresa (Trae) Menard of Kapaa, Kauai; stepdaughter, Laura Gerhart of Grass Valley, Calif,: stepsons, Michael (Valencia) Gerhart of Alameda, Calif., Steven Gerhart of Jamestown, N.D.; sister, Thelma (Rick) Darwicki of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two grandsons.
