Gabriel Moniz Jr.
Gabriel “Gabe” Moniz Jr., 76, of Hilo died June 22, 2017, at home. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a retired emergency medical technician and ambulance driver with the former Hilo hospital. He was retired from the Hawaii Army National Guard and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 8:30-9:30 a.m. July 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. July 6 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 for graveside committal services. The family requests that casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Maxine Moniz of Hilo; sons, Leslie (Dionne) Moniz of Hilo, Brian (Michelle) Moniz of Maple Valley, Wash., Kevin Moniz of Hilo; daughters, Regina (Clem) Malani, Katrina Moniz, both of Hilo; sisters, Gertrude Miprano of Hilo and Gladys (Allen) Oyama of Kaneohe, Oahu; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Stanley Okinishi
Stanley Masao Okinishi, 80, of Hilo, died May 28, 2017, at his home. Born in Pahala, he was a retired mason for Constructors Hawaii, S.K. Oda Contracting, and M. Sonomura Contracting, U.S. Air Force veteran, and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ainaola Ward.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. July 7 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hilo Stake Center for a 10:30 a.m. service, with burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Nancy Okinishi of Hilo; sons, Kerry Okinishi, Renwick Okinishi, Drake (Shantel) Okinishi, all of Hilo; daughter, IdaMay (Robin Lee) Okinishi of Hilo; brother, Ray (Dale) Okinishi of Honolulu; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

James Enos Sr.
James Paul Enos Sr., 51, of Hilo died June 11, 2017, at his residence. Born Aug. 6, 1965, he was a retired park caretaker from the state Department of Land and Natural Resource and a veteran of the Hawaii Army National Guard.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 5 p.m. July 8 at Wailoa State Park, first pavilion. Casual attire is requested. No flowers.
He is survived by wife, Valerie Enos of Hilo; sons, Jessie (Christina) Nunes of Mountain View, James Enos Jr. and Jarrin Enos, both of Hilo; daughters, Lisa Nunes of Hawaiian Beaches, Javelyn Enos and Jeantel Enos, both of Hilo; brother, Loren Danford of Hilo; sister, Cheryl (Shellford) Cantan of Orchidland; stepfather, Robert Willacker of Hilo; numerous grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Morris Kuamo’o
Morris “Dedea” Kuamo’o, 71, of Hilo died June 26, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 28, 1945, in Hilo, he was a retired construction laborer for numerous companies and a former longshore fisherman for numerous Okinawan boats on Oahu.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. July 8 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo Stake Center with an 11 a.m. funeral service. Cremation to follow. Aloha attire.
He is survived by wife, Esther Kuamo’o of Hilo; children, Wilson Gomes of Hilo, Kris (Mitchell) Kuamo’o-Santa Maria, Morris (Staycie Souza) Kuamo’o, Tina (Shane) Mendiola, all of Hilo and Estee Tabangcora of Waimea; brother, Lawrence Kuamo’o Sr. of Waianae, Oahu; sisters, Mary Mukai of Hilo and Leilani (Lacy) McCallister of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Monica Pacris
Monica Caoagas Pacris, 97, of Hilo died June 17, 2017, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born June 3, 1920, in Cagayan Valley, Philippines, she was a substitute caregiver for Gacula Care Home and a member of First United Protestant Church in Hilo.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. July 8 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo with a 10 a.m. service. Burial will follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section. Casual attire and flowers welcomed.
She is survived by children, Jessie (Fred) Gacula, Henry (Judy) Pacris, Natalia Cabutaje, Relly Cabuyadao, Edwin (Imelda) Pacris Sr. and Maribeth (Richard) Galzote; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous family members.
