Kahuwila Ioane

Kahuwila Randolph Ioane, 86, of Hilo, died June 18, 2017, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born Oct. 16, 1930, in Hilo, he was retired from Yamada &Sons, Inc. as a quarry operator.

Friends may call at 3:30 p.m. on July 18, 2017, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo, for a 5 p.m. celebration of life. The family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by sons, Randolph (Myra) Ioane, “Duke” (Brenda) Ioane and Mickey (Pattie) Ioane, all of Hilo; sisters, Noelani Kapuni and Barbara (William) Manuwa, both of Hilo; brother, Myles (Rosalyn) Ioane, of Tucson, Arizona; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Frances Dubczak

Frances Theresa Kulesa Dubczak, 89, of Keaau, died July 6, 2017, at home.Born in East Chicago, Indiana, she was a former receptionist at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a charter member of the VFW Post 3830 Auxiliary in Pahoa. The

Friends may call at 6 p.m. on July 18, 2017, at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. On July 19, 2017, for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial to follow at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by daughter, Sandy Dubczak, of Keaau; son, Craig (Beverly) Dubczak, of Mountain View; god-daughter Kathleen Miedema, of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois; hanai son, Mike Kaneda, of Keaau. Brothers Edmund (Joan) Kulesa of Crown Point, IN and Raymond (Sharon) Kulesa of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Esther Domingues

Esther Ann Nahinu Domingues, 89, of Hawi and formerly of Kahana Valley, Oahu, died June 21, 2017, at Kohala Hospital. Born Jan. 21, 1928, in Laie-wai, Oahu, she was a retired hostess at the Crouching Lion Inn Restaurant in Kaaawa, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kohala Ward.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. on July 18, 2017, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel in Kaneohe, Oahu, for a 10 a .m. Service. Entombment will follow at Valley of the Temples Mausoleum. The family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

She is survived by daughters, Brenda Midel, of Ewa Beach, Oahu, Udell Colleado, of Hawi, and Charmaine Kahala, of Kahana Valley, Oahu; son, Nelson (Neng) Domingues, of Kailua-Kona; brother, Charles Mahoe Kaaukai, of Nanakuli Homestead, Oahu; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mutsuko Higashi

Mutsuko “Boots” Higashi, 95, of Honokaa and formerly of Honolulu, died June 26, 2017, at her residence. Born in Ahualoa, Honokaa, she was a retired accounting supervisor for RCA Global Communications and a former volunteer at the Kuakini Medical Center of Oahu.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. on July 18, 2017, at the Honokaa Hongwanji Mission for an 11 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sister, Itsue Hino, of Ahualoa; one sister-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Dale Ishiyama

Dale Kiyoshi Ishiyama, 58, of Hilo, died July 3, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was an accountant for the County of Hawaii, employed at Carpet Isle and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. on July 19, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. The family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Valerie Ishiyama, of Hilo; sons, Robby Ishiyama and Tyson (Kehau) Usui, both of Hilo; mother, Michiyo Ishiyama, of Hilo; sister, Janice Santos, of Hilo; one granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
