The Department of Health Clean Water Branch today issued health advisory for Kohanaiki Beach Park in Kona, commonly referred to as Pine Trees.

Enterococci levels at Pine Trees, a popular surfing and camping site in Kona, were measured at 364 per 100 mL. Advisories are issued whenever measurements exceed a level of 130 enterococci per 100 mL.

Beach and ocean-goers are advised that elevated bacteria levels pose increased threat of illness and infection.
