Hawaii Handweavers’ Hui meeting

The Hawaii Handweavers’ Hui meets at 11 a.m. today at Island Yarn and Art Supplies, 73-5568 Olowalu St., in Kailua-Kona.

Weavers come together the second Friday of every month at the store to share current projects, trouble shoot issues, watch weaving videos and discuss all things weaving related. The meeting is open to the public.

Kailua-Kona Seniors plan snorkel day

The Kailua-Kona Seniors will meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Hale Halawai. Members will carpool to Kahaluu Beach Park for a day of snorkeling. Bring a brown bag lunch. Dessert will be provided.

No formal meeting will be held at Hale Halawai.

Chamber networking event open to public

Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce’s networking event, AfterHours, hosted by Kahilu Theatre and Romano’s Macaroni Grill, will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Kahilu Theatre in Waimea.

Kahilu Theatre’s Artistic Director Chuck Gessert will present video highlights and musical offerings of Kahilu’s 37th season that begins Sept. 15.

The chamber’s monthly pau hana is a networking event affording attendees the chance to link with others in the local business community, network with and meet new members, and exchange business cards. Refreshments will be provided by Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Kahilu Theatre and Kona Brewing Co.

General admission is $30; $15 for chamber members and first-time nonmembers. Registration and prepayment is required; register at www.kona-kohala.com.
