Firefighter Chili Cook-Off set for Aug. 26
The event will be held from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Red Barn at Parker Ranch, near the soccer fields and rodeo arena. A benefit for Hawaii Wildlife Management Organization (HWMO), it will feature community firefighters showing off their best firehouse chili recipe. The guest judge will be Chef Sam Choy.
Chili tasting, beverages, music, a silent auction and prizes will be included. Tickets for the charity event are $40 per person, including dinner, beverages and dessert. Keiki under 10 are free. Fire and emergency personnel and their families will have a $10 discount on tickets. Proceeds will support HWMO programs to prevent wildfires.
