NORTH HAWAII — On behalf of the Big Island Windermere Real Estate Foundation, John Kennedy of Windermere C and H Properties in Kona presented the Kohala Ride Wild Club of North Kohala a donation of $1,000 on Aug. 1.

On hand to accept the check were club organizers Shay Van Zandt and Renee Perez, along with a handful of club members and Megan Solís, associate director of North Kohala Community Resource Center, the fiscal sponsor for the club.

The club teaches horsemanship and horse care to children and youth in North Kohala. It has a “Ponie Club” for young riders, as well as an active 4-H Club, and rescues neglected horses and other animals.
