Worldwide Voyage exhibit kicks off at Isaacs Art Center

The public is invited to a special reception honoring the Malama Honua Worldwide Voyage of Hokulea at Isaacs Art Center in Waimea from 3-5 p.m this Friday.

On display will be an exhibition of photographs, cultural items and art inspired by the voyage. There will also be an opportunity to talk story with navigator Kalepa Babayan, whose voyages on the Hokulea span the early inception of the Polynesian Voyaging Society, as well as most of the legs of the recent Malama Honua. Gary Eoff, curator of the fine art exhibition will share the background of the cultural items and works by contributing artists, David Reisland, Cliff Johns and Ed Kaneko.

This free exhibit will contine through Sept. 30.
