The Big Island Ukulele Guild is sponsoring a juried Ukulele Builders Showcase from Oct. 6-26 in association with the Wailoa Center’s annual ukulele exhibition.

The requirements for entry into the exhibit are:

• Ukuleles based on the standard scale lengths:

• Soprano, 13 inches

• Concert, 15 inches

• Tenor, 17 inches

• Baritone, 19 inches or similar

• Any personally crafted (i.e. no commercial ukuleles) wood type, string type, inlay, etc., is acceptable.

The instrument must be submitted by noon Oct. 2 to the Wailoa Center in Hilo, inside a case with the builders name taped on the outside to be reviewed by the jury in the afternoon.

All entries will be accepted into the October show. The builder must agree to leave the ukulele throughout the duration of the exhibit. Three awards will be made by the jury.
