Antonina Himalaya

Antonina “Toni” Himalaya, 89, of Hilo died Aug. 17, 2017, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Papaaloa, she was a retired housekeeper for the former Sheraton Waiakea Village Hotel.

Friends may call 5–6 p.m. Sept. 11 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 6 p.m. wake service. Friends may call again 8:30–10 a.m. Sept. 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.

She is survived by sons, Jeffery (Lucy) Himalaya of Sacramento, Calif., Jonathan Himalaya of Hilo, Joel (Kathy) Himalaya of Hilo; daughters, Jennifer (Elroy, Jr.) Osorio of Hilo, Janice (Gary) Ferguson of Honolulu, Judith (Derwin) Gealon of Ewa Beach; brother, Ponciano (Priscilla) Robia of Hilo; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Felisa Saculles Rosana

Felisa “Celiang” Saculles Rosana, 80, of Keaau, died Aug. 18, 2017, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in San Felipe, Binalonan, Pangasinan, the Philippines, she was retired from Diamond Head Papaya Company.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may again call at 9 a.m. Sept. 13 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park Ilima section. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Mariano Abellera Rosana of Keaau; daughters, Remedios (Celso) Gani of Keaau, Evangeline (Bert) Galinato of San Jose, Calif.; sons, Joselito (Teresa) Rosana of Keaau, Dionisio (Lalena) Rosana of Medford, Ore.; brother, Rogelio Saculles of the Philippines; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Mildred Mukai

Mildred “Millie” Yachiyo Mukai, 89, of Hilo, died Aug. 16, 2017, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Kona, she was retired from the county Meals on Wheels program and had worked at the former family business, Fountainette.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Dwayne “Tang” (Priscilla) Mukai of Keaau, Bertram “Bert” Mukai of Hilo; daughter, Colette “Coco” Mukai of Honolulu; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Marcella Ashenfelter

Marcella Maxine Ashenfelter, 94, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died Aug. 26, 2017. Born in Boise, Idaho, she worked as a legal secretary.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Kailua-Kona.

She is survived by daughters, Judy Wood of Kailua-Kona; Laura Scholz of Ocean View; Jerry Simler of Spokane, Washington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bernadette Nanette Chock, 71, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 17, 2017. Born in Honolulu, she worked as a shuttler for Avis/Budget Rental Car Service.

Eleanor Yokomoto

Eleanor Hayako Yokomoto, 92, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 31, 2017 at her residence. Born Jan. 13, 1925, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.

A celebration of life will be held 10 a.m. Sept. 25 at the Regency at Hualalai.

She is survived by husband, Robert Yokomoto of Kailua-Kona; brother, Tsugi Nakamitsu of Honolulu.

Harue Kise

Harue Kise, 96, of North Kohala died Aug. 30, 2017, at St. Therese Residential Care in Buena Park, Calif. She was a homemaker in Halaula and a creative seamstress.

She is predeceased by her husband, Shintoku of 74 years and daughters, Jane and Georgianne Kise. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Gus) Arguello, Cynthia (Warren) Matsuda, sibling Nobuichi Katekawa; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
