Road and parking area closure today at Kaloko-Honokohau NHP

The access road to Kaloko Fishpond and parking lot will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today for coconut tree trimming. The Kaloko gravel road (Ala Nui Kaloko) is located off Highway 19 between mile markers 96 and 97 in Kailua-Kona.

Council to discuss Kealakehe High School policies

Parents, community members, students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the September meeting of the Kealakehe High School Waverider SCC Hokupaa Council.

The meeting is scheduled at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in the Kealakehe High School Library workroom. At 6 p.m., the council will hold a public hearing. The council will discuss the school’s current period of revitalization and its electronic use policy, mission and vision, dress standard, safety and security, citizenship ethical philosophies and advisory program, grading policy, Acellus guidelines, commencement requirements and attendance. Testimony related to any of those topics will be accepted.
