Russ Pama

Russ Pama, 51, of Lynwood, Wash., died Aug. 9, 2017, in Everett, Wash. Born Sept. 12, 1965, in Kealakekua, he was employed with Jamco America in Everett.

Visitation and eulogy will be 4-5:30 p.m. Sept.22 with prayer service to follow at St. John the Baptist church in Kealakekua.

Russ is predeceased in death by father, Philip Pama, Sr.

He is survived by mother, Elizabeth K. Pama; brother, Philip Pama, Jr.; sisters, Phyllis Pama, Paulette Pama, Davolyn (Arnold Bannister) Pama, Lavern (William Alapai) Pama Alapai; hanai-sister, Lori Y. Tokumura; two nephews; seven nieces; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Delbert Ching

Delbert Yin Kiu Ching, Sr., 90, of Hilo, died Aug. 24, 2017, at home. Born in Niulii, Kohala, he was a retired fire inspector of the Hawaii County Fire Department, a retired officer of the U.S. Army and Hawaii Army National Guard, and a World War II, Korean War and Viet Nam veteran.

Private services were held.

He is survived by wife, ReginaMarie “Regi” Ching; sons, Guy (Marvi) Ching, Delbert “PWee” Y.K. Ching, Jr.; daughter, Cheryl-Ann Ching; brother, Philip Ching; sisters, Yin Clendenen, Lan Yin ”Lani” Inouye, Nyuk Lan ”Nyukie” Ching, Carol Manning; two grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Baron Hennings

Baron “Barry” Von Hennings, 77, of Ocean View, Hawaii, died Aug. 11, 2017, in his home. Born in Portland Ore., he was a retired photographer for the San Jose Mercury News and owner of The Photography House in Sonora, Calif.

Private services were held.

He is survived by son, Garrett W. Hennings of Ocean View; daughters, Rachelle (Kirk Newman) Hennings of Waikoloa, Andrea Hennings of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; one grandson.

Charles Legg, III

Charles Burton Legg, III, 66, of Waikoloa, died Aug. 19, 2017, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born Jan. 1, 1951 in Catskill, New York, he was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for EM Rivera and Sons and a US Army veteran.

He is survived by wife, Blossom Legg of Waikoloa; daughter, Courtney (Scott) Kellman of Clayton, North Carolina; son, Charles (Kristi) Legg, IV of Fayetteville, Georgia; brother, Paul Legg of Kailua-Kona; sister, Cathy Legg of Pahoa; four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald Murray

Donald James “Jim” Murray, 87 of Hilo, died at his home in Hilo on Aug. 2, 2017. Born in Hilo, he was a retired land surveyor and owner of Murray Smith and Associates, and consultant for AECOM.

Private services to be held at a later date. Monetary donations to American Cancer Society of Hawaii or Kidney Foundation of Hawaii welcomed.

He is survived by his life partner Judith Kekahuna; son, Paul (Georgeanne) Murray of Hilo, daughters; Tracey (Arnold) Akau of Waimea, Leslie (Ford) Pascual of Volcano, Sharon (Robert) Martins of Paradise Park, brothers; Robert Murray of Seattle, Melvin (Annette) Murray of Austin, Texas, Bruce (Primrose) Murray of Carson, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Kuniko Nishimura

Mrs. Kuniko Nishimura, 95, of Hilo, died July 25, 2017, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. She was born in San Diego and was a partner and bookkeeper for Fukuya Trading Company, Nishimura Company, and TK Farms in California and a member of the Parlier Buddhist Church.

Private services held. No flowers. No koden.

She is survived by daughter, Theo (Herbert) Kushi of Hilo; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Toshiko Tomiyoshi

Toshiko Hamada Tomiyoshi, 94, of Hilo, died Sept. 5, 2017, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Honohina, she was a homemaker.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Carol (Stanley N.) Sasaki of Mililani, Oahu, Ellen (Matthew) Matoi of Honolulu; son, Bryan (Mona Eskaran) Tomiyoshi of Hilo; sisters, Yuriko Yamasato of Papaikou, Matsumi Goodell of Calif.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
