The Kohala Ranch Water Company’s (KRWC) said late Wednesday that well failures (Well 1 and Well 2) continue.

Because of the continued problems with the equipment in Well 2, this well will not be back in operation by the original Wednesday, Sept. 20 date that we had originally anticipated,” Bill Moore, KRWC vice president, said in a press release.

However, he added that since Sunday, they have successfully completed the removal of the old and damaged equipment in the KRWC Well 1.

“We are hopeful that we can have this well back in operation by Saturday,” he said. “We will need this time to install the replacement equipment in the well and test the equipment to make sure it is operational. We will be issuing another update as soon as we have any further information on the equipment status and/or have re-established water service to our customers.

Mandatory water conversation measures will continue until further notice.

1. watering of livestock without written approval of KRWC;

2. irrigation of commercial crops without written approval of KRWC;

3. landscape irrigation;

4. recreational uses (i.e., filling of swimming pools, spas, etc.); and

5. other uses, including vehicle washing.
