Next Friday, community members will have the opportunity to talk story with three Waimea women navigators from Hokulea as Isaacs Art Center celebrates their recent Worldwide Voyage that connected cultures and people across the globe at a free event.

The talk story will be from 4-5:30 p.m. with navigators Pomai Bertelmann, Ka’iualani Murphy and Pualani Lincoln, who sailed Hokulea on its homecoming leg from Tahiti. These women, and Waimea resident Ana Yarawamai, who sailed the first leg of Malama Honua to Tahiti, represent Na Wahine Aukai Wa’a — are among many women voyagers who have sailed the Hokulea on any of its journeys since 1976.
