Volunteers needed for Wednesday’s beach cleanup

As part of World Tourism Day, from 8-9:30 a.m. this Wednesday residents can participate in the group effort to pick up debris and survey and tally it along Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail based at Hapuna Beach and Hapuna Beach State Recreational Area. Between 9:30a.m.-noon booths will provide information on Hawaii State Parks conservation projects, how to keep gulch and waterways clean from trail rhythms, protect the ocean using reef safe sunscreen, Hawaii National marine sanctuary foundation, safe fishing and the barbless circle hook program.

Bring personal gear, shoes, sunscreen, hat, lunch, a chair or mat. Cleanup supplies, water, drinks and a snack will be provided.
