Delfin Santos

Delfin “Apin” Santos 77, of Pahoa, died Sept. 15, 2017, at his home after a short bout with pancreatic cancer. Born on Feb. 14, 1940, in Manila, Philippines, Delfin served in the United States Army and later retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio.

Private service will be held Sept. 26.

He is survived by his wife, Mia; his children, Del Santos and Tiffany Santos-Smith (Gerald Smith II); stepsons, Roger and David Zema (Marie); brother, Renato Santos; two grandchildren

Antone Medeiros

Antone “Tony” Medeiros, 96, of Papaikou, died Aug. 29, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 26, 1921 in Papaikou, he was a retired mechanic for the former Mauna Kea Sugar Company. He was also a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou and the Y.M.I.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 28 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo, Service is at 7 p.m. Visitation will continued from 9-10 a.m. Sept. 29 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Papaikou. Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Kalaoa Catholic Cemetery, Papaikou. Casual attire.

He is survived by, sons, Anthony Paul (Beverly) Medeiros, Sr. of Hilo, Thomas (Marlene) Medeiros, Sr. of Papaikou, Norman (Mika) Medeiros, Sr. of Arizona and Abraham (Donna) Medeiros, Sr. of Papaikou; daughters, Antonelle Feliciano of Arizona and Mary Lee Rapoza of Arizona; brothers, Robert (Lorraine) Medeiros of Papaikou and Marion (Florence) Medeiros of California; sister, Emily Amaral of California; three sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
