Aloha Aina Day returns

Interested residents can participate in The Kohala Center’s (TKC) first Aloha Aina Saturday of the year in the Kohala watershed Oct. 14. The workshop will focus on aina-based work and education initiatives from the Kohala Watershed Partnership and Ke Kumu Aina with ecological restoration and climate change mitigation by outplanting native plant species in targeted watershed areas.

The group will depart from TKC’s Waimea office at 9 a.m. and return by 1 p.m. Bring a water bottle and sack lunch. Boots or sturdy shoes are required and rain gear is highly recommended to be prepared for any kind of weather. Tools, gloves and cold drinking water will be provided.
