Louis Alani, Sr.

Mr. Louis Poli Alani, Sr., 90, of Kahauko, Hookena, died Sept. 12, 2017, at a private care home in Mountain View. Born Feb. 10, 1927, in Kahauko, Hookena, he was a woodcarver for Blairs Ltd. He was a construction company laborer, taro, coffee and fruit farmer, a fisherman, and a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. Oct. 22 at Seventh Day Adventist church in Captain Cook. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. followed by burial in Kalahiki Cemetery in Kealia. Casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his sons, Arley (Mary) Alani, Louis Poli Alani, Jr., and Wyatt (Nancy Hose) Alani, all of Hookena; hanai son, Bruno Lenta of Maui; daughters, Kathleen (Bradley) Pai of Kahauko, and Yolanda Matsuo-Alani of Kealakekua; hanai daughter, Donna Lee Krems of Maui; sister, Lucy (Donald) Oliveros of Captain Cook; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Susumu Oshima

Mr. Susumu Oshima, 91, of Kainaliu, died Sept. 25, 2017, at the Regency at Hualalai. Born Aug. 15, 1926, in Kainaliu, he was the general manager for Oshima Brothers, Inc., in Kainaliu. He was a member of Asahi Kumiai, Daifukuji Soto Mission, and a U.S. Army veteran.

Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo; memorial service at 3 p.m. The family requests casual attire and no flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Setsuyo Oshima of Kainaliu; brother, Stanley (Sandra) Oshima of Kealakekua; sister, Yoshie Tanaka of Kainaliu; numerous nieces and nephews; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Enor Fuellas

Mr. Enor Fuellas, 77, of Honalo, died Aug. 30, 2017 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born Jan. 22, 1940, in Kohala, he was a retired landscaper for Kanaloa Resorts. He tended sugar cane for the Kohala Plantation and was a houseman at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.

Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. Oct. 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi for a 10 a.m. Mass, followed by urn burial at Hawi County Cemetery. Luncheon and fellowship will be at Father Damien Hall. Casual attire.

He is survived by his sons, Jonathan (Debbie) Fuellas of Phoenix, Terry (Darilyn) Fuellas of Honolulu, and Sherwood Fuellas of Vacaville, Calif.; brothers, Benjamin (Helen) Fuellas of Oahu, Johnny Fuellas of Kailua-Kona, Sonny Fuellas of Captain Cook; sisters, Rose Milton of Honalo, and Shirley Uchima of Hilo; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

John Holland

John M. Holland, 89, of Kamuela, died Sept. 28, 2017. Born March 26, 1928, in Fredonia, Kan., he spent his life as an educator as a youth pastor in the Disciples of Christ Church and later as a Public Health teacher in the battle against the HIV/AIDS epidemic as well as a hospice chaplain.

There will be a memorial celebration at 4 p.m. Dec. 9 at Holoholokai Beach Park.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Catrinka) Holland of Kamuela; children Michael (Mary Jane) Holland of Ridgefield, Wash.; Diane Holland (Terry Pratt) of Sacramento, Calif.; Timothy (Leslie) Holland of Grass Valley, Calif.; Kris (Sue) Holland of Applegate, Calif.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Raymond Camacho

Raymond “Keola” Camacho, 47, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 30, 2017, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Dec. 30, 1969, in Honolulu, he was a hunter and waterman.

He is survived by son, Jares Camacho; brother, Jumbo Camacho; one grandson, all of Honolulu; numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
