Tomiko Kawasaki Nakamura
1921 – 2017
Tomiko Kawasaki Nakamura died on Oct. 1, 2017 at age 95. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Y. Nakamura.
Born in Kohala, Hawaii, Tomiko had a long career with First Insurance Company in Honolulu where she served as Administrative Manager Marketing. Tomiko was one of the first women in Hawaii to be certified by the Insurance Institute of America.
Tomiko is survived by a daughter, Lynda Maile Marshall (Jeffrey), and granddaughter Jamie Marshall all of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and a granddaughter, Jessie Marshall (James) of Kamuela. She is also survived by two greatgrandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at the Honolulu Tabernacle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Makiki Ward), 1560 S. Beretania. A reception will follow.

Henry Collins
Henry Collins, 88, of Hilo, formerly of Sacramento, died Oct. 25, 2017, at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in El Paso, TX on April 12, 1929.
He worked for the State of California in social services and was a former Director of drug rehabilitation programs for the Hispanics in California. He loved retirement here walking his corgi dogs Beau and Hilo Hattie around Liliuokalani Park and to host parties that included Tahitian dancers.
Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in his memory. A Memory of Life service will be held at a later date. He is survived by spouse, Margaret Collins of Hilo, HI; son, Henry Collins Jr. of Jonestown, CA; daughter, Rachel Collins Renteria of Camarillo, CA; 5 grandchildren. Donna Saiki
Donna “Mommy Donna” Saiki, 81, of Hilo died Oct. 16 at the Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, Oregon.
Born in Durand, Wisconsin, she was a retired principal at Hilo High School, Waiakea Intermediate School and Keaukaha Elementary School, teacher at Waiakeawaena Elementary and Pahoa Schools, former executive director of the Pacific Tsunami Museum, member of Hawaii Island United Way, Hospital Visitation and Holy Communion for hospitalized Catholics, Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church, Leleiwi Community Association, Hilo High School Alumni Association and Hawaii State Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Member.
Friends may call 4–6 p.m. Thursday (November 9, 2017) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; a celebration of her life will begin at 6. Friends may call again 8–10 a.m. Friday (Nov. 10, 2017) at Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha; funeral mass at 10. Scattering of ashes to take place on Saturday (Nov. 21, 2017). Darlene Lee
Mrs. Darlene Elaine Lee, 58, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died Oct. 17, 2017 at her residence.
Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Nov. 29, 1958, she was a housewife.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Lee, Jr., of Hilo, and Brennen (Katrina) Lee of Kailua-Kona; mother, Nancy Kohler of Bethlehem, PA; brothers, Dwayne (Debbie) Mink and Henry Kohler, all of Bethlehem, PA; sister, Dawn Mink of Bethlehem, PA; brother-in-law, Joseph Lee of Hilo; granddaughter, Adelaida Lee of Kailua-Kona.

Jaime Quiroga
Jaime Laureta Quiroga, 81, of Keaau died Oct. 28 at the Hilo Medical Center.
Born in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired utility worker for HMS Host on Oahu, former tailor in the Philippines and a member of Iglesia Ni Christo in Keaau.
Friends may call 5–6 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 8, 2017) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; wake service at 6 p.m. Burial to take place at 10. Thursday (Nov. 9, 2017) at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.
