Some of the political letters to the editor in the past few weeks have been funny and revealing as it provided us with a glimpse of the extreme types of people we have living on this island. The problem is that they all think that they are right even though the jury or the truth has not all come out yet. Having been a cop, it is always amazing to see how some people come to conclusions after hearing or reading only a portion of the facts.

The content of the letter written by Linda Albers and printed in the WHT Nov. 5 edition was beyond belief. That letter is a disgrace to all of us who live on this island and especially to this paper for printing it. Donald Trump is the President of the United States so like it or not, shut up and let the investigations continue.

In that same letter, Ms. Albers went on and berated Mr. Greer for expressing his opinion in an earlier letter and then suggested that he relocate to some other state. What arrogance!

My name tells you that I am part Russian, named after the vicious dictator. The other half of me is Hawaiian, born and raised on this island. I am old enough to have experienced some of the hardships the white guys dumped on our culture.

However, we have come a long way in being able to accept people from other parts of the world who have managed to acclimate into the culture creating bonds of friendships unheard of elsewhere. Ms. Albers, on the other hand, spews such hatred and venom in her writing that our island would be much better of is she were just a visitor about ready to board the flight leaving out of Kona.
