Gil Unilongo

Gil Apolinario Unilongo, 60, of Hilo, died Oct. 14, 2017, at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Honolulu. Born on Aug. 22, 1957, in Taboc, Libertad, Antique, Philippines, he was the proprietor for Marcy’s Variety Store in Hilo, and he also was a member of the New Hope Church in Hilo.

Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Nov. 13 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6:30 p.m. Friends may call again on 8-10 a.m. Nov. 14 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 10 a.m. funeral service. Casual attire and flowers are welcomed; burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section).

He is survived by wife, Marcy Unilongo of Hilo; son, Marvin Gil P. Unilongo of Hilo; daughter, Vanessa P. Unilongo of Hilo; brothers, Abelard Unilongo, Rogelia Unilongo and Renato Unilongo of Philippines; sister, Efipania Galija of Philippines; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Linda Thomas

Linda Naomi (Kauhane) Thomas, 74, of Volcano died Oct. 17, 2017. Born on Jan. 24, 1943, in Honolulu, she was the Owner of Hawaiian Ginger Company and retired as manager of Epic Ohana Conferencing and from Queen Liliuokalani Children Center.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 for an 11 a.m. service at New Hope, 840 Kupulau Road in Hilo, A services will also be at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 13 on Oahu at Bishop Memorial Chapel at Kamehameha Schools, 1887 Makuakane Street Honolulu. No flowers.

She is survived by husband, George C. Thomas; son, Austin Thomas; daughters, Teri (Michael Carter) Thomas, Leilani (Raymond) Dayton; brother, Francis (Jennifer) Kauhane; sister, Cherilyn Moloney; two granddaughters.

Prolando Racho

Prolando Santome Racho, 96, of Hilo, died Oct. 30, 2017 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Aug. 28, 1921, in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a retired carpenter.

Visitation will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. Nov. 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo. Funeral Mass begins at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Josephine Racho of Hilo; children, Cering (Villa) Duhaylongsod of Waikoloa, Marfel (Felix) Bonito of the Philippines, Stanley (Joyce) Suan of Waipahu, Oahu, Tessie Suan of San Antonio, Texas, and Dale (Jim) Bayone of Warner Robins, Georgia; 16 grandchildren.
