Miu Sibayton
Miu Lin Lee Sibayton, 85, of Keaau died Oct. 17, 2017, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a retired nutrition program assistant for the University of Hawaii-College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources-Cooperative Extension Service-Extended Food and Nutrition Education Program and a member of Olaa First Hawaiian Congregational Church.
Friends may call 8:30-9:30 a.m. Nov. 20 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
She is survived by daughters, Janice (Barry) Arakaki of Halaula, Kohala, Debbie Ann (Jim) Coyle of San Anselmo, Calif.; sons, Wilfred (Joni) Sibayton of Keaau, Jeffrey (Kapiolani) Sibayton of Keaau; hanai daughter, Caroline Porlas of Honolulu; sister, Miu Chee Matsumura of Hilo; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Onofre Cabalce
Onofre Sabalo Cabalce, 89, of Keaau, died Oct. 29, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 29, 1928, in Parparia, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines; he was retired seed cutter for the former Puna Sugar Co. in Keaau and a member the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Keaau.
Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Nov. 20 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may also call 8-10 a.m. Nov. 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire; burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section).
He is survived by daughters, Flory Ito of Kurtistown, Josephine (Andrew) Matias, Keaau and Bella (Hiep) Doan of Paradise Park, Keaau, Mila (Jude) Javier of Long Beach, California; sons, Nestor (Laudy) Cabalce of Keaau and Milo (Lacher) Cabalce of Hilo; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pedro Kaawaloa Sr.
Pedro Kuuipo Kaawaloa Sr., 68, of Pahoa, died Nov. 4, 2017, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ka’u, he was a retired stone mason, former county lifeguard at Kaimu and Drainpipe in Kalapana, bodybuilder, maile growers, co-founder of the Puna Canoe Club and U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran.
Friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Nov. 24 at the Star of the Sea Church in Kalapana; celebration of his life will begin at 10:30. Casual attire.
He is survived by son, Pedro Kaawaloa Jr.; brothers, Pualani Kaawaloa, Poni Kaawaloa ande Robert Kaawaloa; sister, Mabel Wilson; 16 nephews and eight nieces.

Yukiko Nakayama
Yukiko O. Nakayama, 94, died Aug. 21, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 27, 1923, in Yokohama, Japan, she was a homemaker and a professional seamstress.
Private services were held.
She is survived by daughters, Jean (Terrance) Nago, Patsy (Alan) Iwasaki, sister; Harue Katsura, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews in Oahu and Japan.
