No is clear in any language

Regarding the comment in the article entitled, “Squeal on your pig,” that ran on Monday’s nation and world page that stated, “And French defenders of seduction have warned against a puritanical, American-style backlash that could demonize romance.”:

Whatever one’s thoughts on the Puritans, America, France, romance, the allegations of sexual abuse, the confirmed cases of sexual abuse and rape, no means no, in any language, in any civilized nation.

Let’s get behind the victims, not parse words and phrases that are meaningless.

Letters good sign of freedom

Thank you for realizing that the 1st Amendment covers all speech.

Granted, some of the letters from those extolling the virtues of our current leader — i.e. look at everything that he has accomplished — only serve to greatly reinforce my liberal beliefs, they still have a right to be written.

Also, many of the liberal opinions have been just marvelous and accurate!

Letter out of bounds, but go ‘Cats!

This letter is in response to the way over the top letter written by Ray Pieri on Monday, Nov. 20.

No wonder we are such a divided county when a person writes a letter such as Mr. Pieri’s. I am not a Trump supporter by any stretch of the imagination but I have family and close friends who are. They are smart, intelligent, college educated people who have different ideas, right or wrong, about what is in our country’s best interest. It does not make them “totally uninformed, mentally deficient, emotionally immature and indoctrinated with hate.”

In reality, it shows Mr. Pieri to be totally uninformed, emotionally immature and definitely indoctrinated with hate to say such things about people he doesn’t know. I, for one, do not want to be included in any part of his saying that the “rest of us” might agree with total disrespect for people I do not know and the diversity of opinions written up in the WHT letters. Think before you write.

On a totally different subject, I want to congratulate the Konawaena High School football team, their coach Brad Uemoto and all the other coaches, too, for the most unbelievable football game I have had the pleasure to witness (on the radio).

In my 70 years I have never seen, listened to or heard of a seven-overtimes game and probably won’t again in my lifetime. It was a OMG!, Holy sh%#$@?!, Can you believe it?!, Yes!!! kind of game, one for the record books for sure!

Both teams were winners, there were no losers and as a community we are so proud! Go ‘Cats!
