Barbara Jean De Luz

Barbara Jean De Luz, 76, of Paauilo, died Sept. 20, 2017, at her residence. Born Jan. 11, 1941, in Hilo, she was a homemaker, treasurer and board of director for Triple D Ranch Inc., and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

Private services were held.

She is survived by spouse, Antone De Luz Jr. of Paauilo; two sons, Duane (Sheila) De Luz of Paauilo, and Antone De Luz III of Chandler, Ariz.; daughter, Elisa (Oscar) Dalmacio of Paauilo; brother, Abel Benevides Jr. of Hilo; one son-in-law; one sister-in-law; 7 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Josefina Padamada

Josefina Achuela Padamada, 89, of Keaau, died Sept. 29, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 18, 1928, in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired flower packer and member of the Hilo Iloco Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 1 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Visitation for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may call again 8-10 a.m. Dec. 2 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Casual attire and no flowers. Burial is at Alae Cemetery (section I).

She is survived by sons, Orlino (Nerie) Padamada Felix (Teresita) Padamada Jr., Gilbert (Vilma) Padamada and Tito (Medita) Padamada of Keaau; daughters, Perla Gouveia and Nora (Jose) Galarse of Keaau; brother, Eugenio (Glory) Achuela of Philippines; 20 grandchlildren and 11 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Eusebio Maneja

Eusebio Manding Maneja, 80, of Papaikou, died, Nov. 9, 2017, in Hilo. Born on June 26, 1937, in Sidiran, Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired employee of Hilo Coast Processing Co., a small business owner and independent ginger and taro farmer.

Friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Dec. 3 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 10:30 a.m. funeral service; lunch to follow and burial will be at at 1:30 p.m. at Alae Cemetery (new section).

He is survived by wife, Clarita Talon Maneja of Kurtistown; five daughters, Annabelle (Michael) Maneja-Andres, Catherine (Craig) Maneja, Eunice (Richard) Harbottle, Rebecca (Richard) Atiz, Ruth (Stacey) Jarneski, all from Hawaii; sisters, Apolonia (Nicasio) Valledor of Papaikou and Juanita Maneja Sales of Manteca, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Zelda Kelson

Zelda Ninipo Kelson, 61, of Keaukaha, died Nov. 21, 2017, at home. Born March 2, 1956, in Keaukaha, she was a financial representative at One Main Financial and founder and head coach of Cuzins Volleyball Club, and a member of the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team,Kuhio Chapel in Keaukaha and Hale Pule Ke Ola Hou in Keaukaha.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 2 at Kawananakoa Hall, Keaukaha. Funeral service begins at noon, cremation to follow at Dodo Mortuary. Casual attire.

She is survived by, husband, Kendall Kelson of Keaukaha; sons, Ashferd (Nicole) Kelson of Keaukaha and JR (Pohai) Kelson of Mountain View; hanai son, Allen (Ana) Lainaholo; daughter, Anela (Damien De Mattos) Kelson of Keaukaha; sisters, Leonetta Lainaholo of California, Junedale Lainaholo of California and Joni Bonilla of Panaewa; nine grandchildren; many, many aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

John Kaaihue

John Patrick Kaaihue, 56 of Kealakekua, died Nov. 23, 2017. Born Oct. 24, 1961, in Honolulu, he worked in construction.

Private services will be held.

He is survived by wife, Donna; sons John Kaaihue of Kauai; Kaneala Kaaihue of Waikoloa; brother Larry Kaaihue of Oahu; and sister Eugenia Kaaihue of Oahu.

Katherine Correira

Katherine Carmen Torres Correira, 93, of Hilo, died Oct. 10, 2017, at home. Born on Sept. 16, 1924, in Honokaa, she was a homemaker/seamstress and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

A celebration of her life was held.

She is survived by daughters, Pheobe Correira and Lorna (Richard) Ganigan of Hilo; hanai daughter, Duenna (Glenn) Kawanishi of Oregon; one brother-in-law; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
