KAILUA-KONA – The owners of Windermere C &H Properties have purchased Century 21 All Islands.

The sale closed Nov. 10

The purchase expands the Windermere brand by adding offices at Kona Commons and at the Queens’ MarketPlace at Waikoloa Beach Resort to the existing offices in Kailua-Kona and Waimea.

Windermere now has more than 60 agents servicing the Big Island over the four locations.

“The addition of the Century 21-All Islands team to the Windermere family doubles our presence on the Big Island, which means even more buyers and sellers will have access to a level of service that is truly unique to Windermere,” Daryl Flem, general manager and principal broker for Windermere C &H Properties, said in a press release announcing the sale.

Windermere absorbed Century 21’s roughly 40 agents.

“The term we’ve been using is stronger together,” Flem said Wednesday. “I’m excited. It really makes us a major player in the market.”

Terms of the deal couldn’t be shared.

Century 21’s former owner, James W. Wright of Honolulu, said there was a confidentiality agreement.

Wright, who co-owned the business with Cheryl Dillon, said they were selling off their businesses.

Oceanfront Sotheby’s International Realty bought their Kauai offices, Coldwell Banker Island Properties bought the businesses on Maui and Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties purchased the ones on Oahu.

“It was just a good time,” said Wright, 67, adding the deal allowed for time for leisurely pursuits, such as snow skiing.

The former owners, who owned the company for around 25 years amassed over 18 acquisitions, will remain on Oahu and sell real estate for Coldwell.

In recent years, Windermere has been growing its Hawaiian operations.

That included having Maui-based Wailea Realty join Windermere in November of last year, the release stated. In total, Windermere has six offices and more than 100 agents between Maui and the Big Island.

Windermere Real Estate is ranked the largest regional real estate company in the Western U.S. with more than 300 offices and 6,000 agents.

“Windermere has been a proud member of the Big Island community since 2006 and we’re excited for the opportunity to continue growing our brand with the purchase of the Century 21-All Islands offices,” said Geoff Wood, CEO of Windermere Real Estate.
