Joseph Bautista

Joseph “Joe” P. Bautista, 75, of Hilo, passed away Nov. 10, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born on August 28, 1942, in Hilo.

He served in the U.S. Army, retired from Parks &Recreation with the County of Hawaii, worked in Honomu &Parks recreation with the County of Hawaii Honomu and Papaikou Gyms. He also Officiated Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) basketball, coached Age group basketball, volleyball,Baseball, softball, and Hilo High School Football. Friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Visitation 3-4:25 p.m., burial with military honors at 4:25 p.m., and memorial service at 4:30 p.m. Casual attire and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Irene Bautista of Hilo; sons, Blaine Bautista and Kevin (Ashley Monden) Bautista of Hilo; daughters, Michelle Bautista-Salazar of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rochelle (Stanley) Martines, Jr. of San Francisco, California, and Jonelle (Jimmy) Vita of Hilo; brothers, Alfred (Aycel) Esteban of Las Vegas, Nevada, Albert (Darlene) Esteban of North Carolina, George (Louise) Esteban of San Francisco, California, David (Bernie) Esteban of Honolulu, Ernest Esteban of Arizona; eight grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews; sisters in-law, Karen (Henry) Yee of San Francisco, California, Judy Salas of Guam and Sandra (Clayton) Nakano of Hilo; brothers, in-law, Jerry (Susan) Takata of Hilo and Bert (Sheri) Takata of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jason Camero

Jason Aaron Camero, 43, passed away Nov. 5, 2017 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, Hawaii.

He graduated from Hilo High School — Class of 1992. He was employed at HPM Building Supply.

Visitation 5-7 p.m., Dec. 14, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue 8-10 a.m. Dec. 15 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Papaikou; Mass at 10 a.m.; cremation to follow.

Survived by wife, Jacqueline; daughter, Raelyn; son, JaedynJames; hanai daughters, Seanna-Lynn Apana of Lihue, Kauai and Jacelyn Ito of Portland, Oregon; parents, Jaime and Claire Camero of Pepeekeo; brother, Jay of Pepeekeo; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Cynthia Juan

Cynthia Marie Juan, 67, of Honokaa, passed away Nov. 22 at home. Born Oct. 6, 1950 in Pahala, she was an administrative assistant for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church in Honokaa, Hawaii. She also was member of the Hamakua Civic Club and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church.

Friends may call on Dec. 16 at Our Lady of Lourdes. Visitation 7-9 a.m.; celebration of Mass at 9 a.m. Family requests guests to wear pink or white casual attire.

She is survived by husband, Norman Juan of Honokaa; son, Brandon (Janalynn) Juan of Honokaa; daughters, Brandee (Bula) Jacob and Brancy (Darren Samoy) Juan of Honokaa; three grandchildren, Branalyn, Braeden and Braelyn; brothers, Clyde Silva and Michael (Wendy) Silva of Pahala, Chris (Melissa) Silva of Hilo; sisters, Terry (Tim) Wright of Hilo and Michelle (Derek) Andrade of Pahala; brothers in-law, Baldwin (Valerie) Juan of California, Wendall Juan and Cewardlle (Natalie) Juan of Kamuela, Elroy Juan of Paauhau; sisters-in-law, Vanda J. Joseph Souza

Joseph Souza, 87, of Hilo, died Nov. 23, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. He was born in Paia, Maui, and was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the Ancient Order of Foresters No.8110 on Oahu.

Friends may call 8:30-10 a.m. Dec. 15 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. prayer service, followed by burial at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2 at noon. Casual attire.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen A. (Andrew) Souza-Crockford of Oregon, Laura F. Souza of Pahoa and Tracy L. (Derrick) Kaneakua of Hilo; son, Joseph G. (Tracie) Souza of Kalopa; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nieces &nephews.

Kenneth Kagawa

Kenneth Joseph Kagawa, 76, of Hilo, formerly of Lahaina, Maui, died Nov. 12, 2017 at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Lihue, Kauai, he was a retired teacher for Lahainaluna High School on Maui, retired president and treasurer for Lahaina Federal Credit Union and member of Lahaina Kamaaina Fishing Club, Hawaii State Teachers Association and Retired Teachers Association.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Dec. 17 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Cremation follows. Family requests casual attire to be worn and no monetary gifts or flowers.

He is survived by wife, Kay Hirayama Kagawa of Hilo; daughter, Kandice Kagawa of Waipahu, Oahu; son, Kent (Rochelle) Kagawa of Hilo; grandchildren, Kassandra Kagawa of Hilo, Kennison Kagawa of Tacoma, Wash.
