With the help of Kuma Maua Puhi and Kumu Kai Espere, Kanu o ka Aina first-graders submitted the Kaula ‘Ili wreath and won first place among the youth entries.
Winner of the overall wreath award is Raymond Haynes. He says he owes credit to his wife and wreath-making teacher, Jane Haynes.

Kamuela Inn and The Big Island Giving Tree hosted the 2nd Annual Christmas Wreath Contest Dec. 10 in Waimea. Of the 10 entries, each wreath designer received an award in the adult, youth, theme or overall category.

Cash prizes ranged from $50-$200. The wreaths will continue to decorate the inn through Christmas Day.
