Kazuma Taguchi
Kazuma Taguchi, 99, of Hilo died Dec. 1, 2017, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Waikapu, Maui, he was a retired truck driver and freight expeditor for Hilo Transportation and Terminal, member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Nohea St. Kumiai, veteran of the U.S. Army, Company B, 100th Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II, and recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal and French Foreign Legionnaire Medal.
Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no koden.
He is survived wife, Yasuko “Millie” Taguchi of Hilo; son, Glenn (Lita) Taguchi of Hilo; daughter, Shelley (Lance) Santo of Honolulu; brother, Sueichi Taguchi of Las Vegas; sisters, Doris Tanimoto of California, Betty Cerritelli of California, Mitsue Goya of California; one sister-in-law; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Gladys Potter
Gladys Patricia Mattos Potter, 87, of Hilo, died Dec. 18, 2017, at home. Born in Hilo, she was a housewife and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church.
Friends may call at 6 p.m. Dec. 27 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may again call at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 28 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Committal service and burial together with her late husband, Arthur Potter, Sr. follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2. The family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by sons, Darell Babagay of Kona, Ellsworth (Beverley) Babagay of Hilo; daughter, Haunani (Gary “Bo”) Baugues of Keaau; brothers, Sebastian (Dolores) Mattos of Hilo, Albert (Lily) Mattos of Ahualoa; sisters, Eleanor Finch of Ukiah, Calif., Theresa Baumgarner of Hilo; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Thomas Kina
Thomas “Tommy” Masao Kina, 76, of Hilo, died Dec. 12, 2017, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born June 19, 1941, in Olaa, he was a bus driver for Laupahoehoe Trans and Jacks Tours. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Campbell Hui, Jr.
Campbell “Bobo” Kuhia Hui, Jr., 51, of Waimea, died Dec. 18, 2017, at Pohai Malama Hospice of Hilo. Born Feb. 8, 1966, in North Kohala, he was a rock wall specialist.

He is survived by son, Aarson Hui of Honokaa; daughter, Chelsea Hui of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Bernie (John) Collo, Dorothy (Gary) Souza all of Waimea; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond “Bo” Robin Baruela, 50, of Hilo, passed away Dec. 11, 2017, in Hilo. He was born Aug. 3, 1967, and employed at Kama’aina Motors and Bacon Universal &Buck Roofing in Hilo.
