Kona Stories hosts Words and Wine

David P. Bugay, Bryan Furer and Anne Celeste will be featured during Kona Stories Book Store’s Words and Wine event at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Keauhou Shopping Center.

Doc D. is the pen name for Bugay who has a reputation as a high-energy speaker, author, poet and playwright. He will be presenting his two poetry books: “The Naked Turtle Dances” and “Zombie Dearest: Poems for Young Zombies.”

Furer is the author of two books based on his screenplays, the first is “Five Steps to Sheep” and the second is “Passenger.” He is currently working on his third book, “Kona Coast,” and writes under the pen name of Elias Blackthorne.

Celeste is a spiritual counselor, teacher, and healer. She is the author of “Creating Heaven on Earth — My Journey from the Devastation of My Life into the Heaven in My Heart,” a true story that has given many people hope and inspiration.

Following a more formal book presentation from each author there will be a Q&A session.

The event, which also features complimentary pupu and wine, concludes at 8 p.m.

Nene Readers meet Tuesday

The Nene Readers gathers for its December meeting 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kailua-Kona Public Library.

Sponsored by Friends of the Libraries, Kona, Nene Readers is a reading club at the Kailua-Kona Public Library for fourth, fifth and sixth graders hat focuses on reading, enjoying, analyzing, and discussing Nene Award-nominated books.
