Curtis Spencer II
Curtis Lanui Spencer II, 58, of Hilo, died Dec. 29, 2017, at Life Care Center of Hilo. He was born in 1959 in Ankara, Turkey.
Private services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by sister, Leilani (Edward) Zebart of Maryland; stepmother, Margie Spencer of Kailua-Kona; one niece and one nephew.

Tuani Tuani
Tuani Tuani, 55, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 17, 2018, in the People’s Republic of China. Born June 19, 1962, in Malaeloa, American Samoa, he was a musician with the Island Breeze Luau Show and was with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in Kailua-Kona.
A celebration of life will be held 5-9 p.m. Feb. 2 at the University of Nations Ohana Court, 75-5851 Kuakini Highway in Kailua-Kona. Burial service will be at 9 a.m. Feb. 3 at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests aloha attire.
He is survived by wife, Loryn Tuani of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Natalie (Dylan) Winika of Australia, Naomi Tuani of Kailua-Kona; mother, Sauleone Nofoa of Honolulu; brothers, Epati (Toolua) Nofoa Galumalemana of Honolulu, and Tafiaina (Lisa) Nofoa of California; sisters, Tutaima Nofoa Ieremia, and Leilua (Mila) Nofoa Galu, all of Honolulu, Nuafuluvalu (Penoga) Nofoa Unutoa and Easter (Ricky) Nofoa, all of California; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

James Rumley
James Charles Rumley, 66, died Oct. 10, 2017, in Honolulu . Born Sept 30, 1951, in Los Angeles, was an Air Force veteran and retired federal worker at Pearl Harbor.
Services will be 1 p.m. Feb. 2 at Maui Veterans Cemetery.
He is survived by wife, Trinidad; son, Timothy Rumley; brother, Ronald Rumley of Kailua-Kona; three nephews and one niece.

Pearl Rangasan
Pearl Jane “Pualani” “Pearly” Rangasan, 73, of Kealakekua died Nov. 5, 2017, at home. Born in Ookala, she was a station supervisor for Easley Corp. Chevron gas stations, coffee and macadamia nut farmer and member of Ke Ola Mau Loa Church in Waimea.

Phillip Villafuerte
Phillip “Phil” Villafuerte, 84, of Papaaloa, died Dec. 21, 2017, at home. Born on March 21, 1933, in Puukolii, Maui, he was a Korean War veteran, retired accountant for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., coach and kupuna softball player.
Visitation will be held 8-10 a.m. Feb. 3 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass. Burial to follow at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Lunch will be held at the Catholic Hall following the burial. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Victoria Villafuerte of Papaaloa; sons, Ralph (Donna) Villafuerte of California and Greg Villafuerte Sr. of Waimea; daughter, Phyllis (William) Frando of Waimea; stepson, Peterson (Mel) Nuniez Sr. of Papaaloa; stepdaughters, Shirlann (Stacey) Levita of Paauilo and Bernadine (Darrell Sr.) Kanekoa of Kukuihaele; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a few nieces and nephews.

Brian Lokela Keohuloa, 63, of Pahala, died Jan. 11, 2018, at his residence. Born Oct. 2, 1954, in Pahala, he was a diesel mechanic for the Royal Hawaiian MacNut Co. in Ka’u, a veteran in the Hawaii Army National Guard and a member of the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Friends may call 8-9:30 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire. Flowers and lei are welcomed. Cremation at Dodo Mortuary Crematory.

Dorothy “Dot” Toyoko Tsunezumi, 96, of Hilo, died Dec. 24, 2017, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired co-owner/office manager for the former Tamo’s Auto Repair and member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission, Hilo Daijingu and Tenrikyo Hilo Church.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by sons, Ronald (Carol) Tsunezumi and Oren (Stephanie) Tsunezumi of Hilo; daughter, Gail Harada of Waikele, Oahu; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Manuel “Manny” Rapoza Branco Jr., 89, of Hilo, died Jan. 11, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 2, 1928, in Hilo, he was a retired surveyor for a private company, U.S. Army veteran and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
