Holualoa Village holds its First Friday Art-After-Dark from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday featuring art and artists in a dozen galleries as well as free live music and a selection of food vendors. This free community event is for all ages.
Glyph Art Gallery welcomes a new artist to the gallery, Grant Pecoff. Pecoff’s original oils and metal prints, with their interplay of vibrant light, electric colors and flowing lines have a unique and distinctive style. He will be in the gallery painting live during the Friday’s event. In addition, out front, gallery artist Don Slocum will have an extended exhibition of his metal print photos of sea, sky and earth panoramas, and Andrea Pro will showcase her new line of native flora woodcuts, transformed into decorative accent pillows. Sundog Bread and their delicious bread and pastries will also be out front.
MField gallery features new hat designs this month, as well as new jewelry from MiNei Designs Hawaii and new paintings. Next to the gallery, Pizza Rovers will offer individual gourmet pizzas.
Mauka High Notes will perform Hawaiian melodies in the south end of the village. This group performs island and classic songs on the front porch of Holualoa Ukulele Gallery for young and old. The gallery will be open and showcasing new ukuleles this month.
At Holualoa Gallery, artists/owners, Matthew and Mary Lovein will be present with featured artist Mark Martell painting live. Outside, Kona Dogs Gourmet Hotdogs and Holoholoz Fresh Fish will be serving up fresh grab and go fare. Musician Joe D’Entrone will be performing as well.
First Friday staples, David Lawrence and Friends, will provide musical entertainment all evening in front of Koa Realty, which also hosts multiple food vendors.
Dr. Tim’s Medicine Band will play vintage music in front of Ipu Arts Plus Gallery from 6-8:30 p.m.
In addition to a multitude of Valentine’s treasures, this month Pat Pearman’s features February’s birth stone, amethyst. It is used as a protective stone, as well as facilitating intuition, communication and abundance.
New vendor Ben’s Bentos will be offering bentos in front of Shelly Maudsley White Gallery.
