KAILUA-KONA — In a financial report released Wednesday, Hawaii Gov. David Ige had $942,141 cash on hand after raising $810,903 for the incumbent’s re-election bid.

The contribution period spans July 1, 2017-Dec. 31, 2017.

The campaign has raised a total of $1,171,421.04 during the current cycle spanning Nov. 5, 2014-Dec. 31, 2017, according to the report.

“Our campaign continues to grow and our cash on hand prepares us for an even stronger campaign than four years ago,” Ige said. “Our fundraising efforts within this short period of time are indicative of voters who support my administration’s accomplishments and want to share in our continued success.”

Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa’s campaign noted Wednesday it had raised $731,945 so far in its challenge to Ige, which will culminate in August’s primary election.

Hanabusa’s fundraising efforts have included on-the-ground visits to all four counties and her campaign has received more than 455 contributions since December, 96 percent of which were from individuals, according to the report.

“We are greatly encouraged by this immense show of support from the community,” Hanabusa said. “Our focus has been on grassroots efforts statewide and establishing a sound foundation on which we can build toward a strong position to carry us through to the Primary Election in August. The warmth and enthusiasm of individuals from across all islands have been overwhelming.”
