WAIMEA — The public is invited to a Royal Holoku Ball honoring the life and contributions of Hawaii’s finest gentlemen — King William Lunalilo, Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana’ole and Richard Smart — hosted by Waimea Hawaiian Homesteaders Association from 4 to 8:30 p.m. March 24 at Richard Smart’s Pu’uopelu, Historic Parker Ranch Homes.

This year’s theme, “One Night With The King” makes it a dinner holoku gala extravaganza in royal style, as if dining in the presence of a king. All proceeds will go to the Kuhio Scholarship Fund with the sole purpose of awarding scholarships for college educations.

The event will include dinner, cocktails, a live concert, a silent auction and awards for attire.

Formal attire is required, including any suit, holoku style or something nice if all else fails. Paniolo style jeans with a coat and cowboy hats are also welcome, as well as palaka style holoku with boots.

Tickets are $30 per person. To assist with donations, email Micah Kamohoalii at micahkamohoalii@gmail.com for a donation letter.
