KAILUA-KONA — Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim was unable to attend a Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce event today.

The Focus Luncheon was to include an address from Kim, who said he planned to touch on his vision for Maunakea, and a panel discussion that was to include the mayor, the executive assistant charged with issues related to homelessness and representatives of the Hawaii Police Department and the departments of Parks and Recreation, Water Supply and Public Works.

Representing Kim at the luncheon is Managing Director Wil Okabe.

Officials said the mayor is in Honolulu providing testimony to the state Legislature regarding a proposal to allocate additional transient accommodations tax revenues to Kauai, Maui and Hawaii counties.
