PUU WAAWAA — A single-vehicle rollover Tuesday morning prompted the closure of the southbound lane of Highway 190 in North Kona.

The crash, reported about 9:45 a.m., occurred in the vicinity of mile marker 22-23, on the Kona side of the entrance to Puu Waawaa. According to police, a man was driving a northbound white Chevy Silverado when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and rolled it over. Air bags were deployed.

The vehicle came to a rest on its tires in the southbound lane of the highway, which was closed temporarily until it was removed. The man driving the vehicle suffered no injuries and declined medical attention.
