Karlette Kaniho

Karlette Kehaulani Kaniho, 64, of Kamuela, March 19, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born on Sept. 26, 1953, in Honokaa, she was a former baker at KTA in Kamuela, a cashier at Foodland, in Kamuela and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimea 1st Ward.

Friends may call 8-9:45 a.m. April 14 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimea for a 10 a.m. memorial service with urn burial to follow at Waimea County Cemetery, Mormon Section. Aloha attire and flowers and leis welcomed.

She is survived by, brothers, Kenneth Keala (LaVerne) Kaniho of Laupahoehoe, Klem (Janice) Kaniho of Kamuela and Seymour Kahiliaulani Lindsey Kaniho of California; hanai brother, Jonah Kuahine of Honolulu; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Katherine Sasaki

Mrs. Katherine Yukie Sasaki, 76, of Kealakekua, died March 15, 2018, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born Dec. 5, 1941, in Puunene, Maui, she was an accountant for Dillingham Corporation and Sadaharu Tashima Accounting Services and a member of the Kona Okinawa Kenjinkai, Kainaliu Makai Kumi and the Honokohau-Kaloko Ukulele Group.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. April 14 at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity on Lako Street in Kailua-Kona for a 10:30 a.m. memorial service followed by fellowship and lunch. The family requests casual attire.

She is survived by her husband, Baron Sasaki of Kealakekua; son, Mark Sasaki of Kealakekua; daughter Cheryl Sasaki of Kealakekua; brothers, Harold (Ellen) Kameya of Granada Hills, Calif., Andrew (Suzanne) Kameya of Irvine, Calif., Lawrence (Lynne Hensel) Kameya of Chicago, and Dennis (Joyce) Kameya of Walnut Creek, Calif.; two aunts, one uncle; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elvine Victorine

Elvine Mokihana Victorine, 76, of Hilo, died April 8, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 26, 1941, in Pahala, Ka’u, she was a housewife and Miss Billfish 1961. She was also a member of Kaumana Kinney Heights Kumiai and the Women Comets Red Fastpitch Softball Team.

Friends may call 10-11 a.m. April 19 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo for an 11 a.m. funeral service with burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Casual attire.

She was preceded in death by son, Lee Kanekoa Victorine.

She is survived by husband, Leroy Victorine of Hilo; children, Alvainie U’ilani (Chad) Canda of Keaau, Tammy Momilani (Joseph) Kealoha of Kamuela, Clifford Daniel (Michelle) Victorine, III of Keaau and Mike Keone (Becki-Lin) Victorine of Pukalani, Maui; brother, Jesse Valera of Kona; sisters, Primrose (William) Paulos of Montana and Dayne Snell of Kona; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
