Alliento Gallegos

Alliento “Ali” Patrick Gallegos, 70, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died May 8, 2018, at Tripler Army Medical Center. Born in South Hilo on March 14, 1948, he was a water technician for Destiny Water Company, a mechanic at Kona Kwik Lube, a driver for JL Delivery Service, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of DAV (Disabled American Veterans).

Memorial service will be held at noon, May 31, at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his wife, Karla Oldfield of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Ashley Stephens of Kailua-Kona; sister, Visa (Harry) Fernandez of Waimea; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria Cifuentes

Gloria Elsa Cifuentes, 84, died in Waikoloa. Born in Colombia, she worked as a clerk at a newspaper.

No services will be held.

She is survived by brothers Rafael (Ligia) Cifuentes of Waikoloa; Jose Cifuentes of Las Vegas, Nev.; Guillermo (Maureen) Cifuentes of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Elvira Cifuentes of Waikoloa; Aura Villafane of Waimea; and Cecilia (Hernando) Uribe of Los Angeles, Calif.

Richard Gaspar Jr.

Richard Joseph Gaspar Jr., 78, died in Kailua-Kona. Born in Honolulu, he served in the U.S. Army and was a retired guest services manager at Hilton Waikoloa Resort.

He is survived by daughters Rima (David) Gaspar of Kehei, Sara (Timothy) Song of Kailua-Kona, Charmine (Andrew) Lincoln of Kailua-Kona, Suzette Gaspar of Canton, Texas, and Leina (Chris) Tangaro of Canton, Texas; sister Elnora Medeiros of Kapolei; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren

Joseph Alonzo

Joseph Alonzo, 80, of Keaau died May 11, 2018, at home. He was born in Kurtistown and was a retired chief petty officer with the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his son, Ezekiel Alonzo; daughters, Iris McFadden, Elizabeth Alonzo, Brigitte Hironaka and Terri Lee; brothers, Harold Alonzo and Roy Alonzo; sisters, Penny Alonzo and Betty Alonzo.

Jocelyn Case

Jocelyn M. Case, 66, of Hilo, died April 28, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Hilo.

She is survived by sons, Ricki (Kelsi) Case, Scotti (Shareen) Case; daughter, Wendi (Keane) Kawamoto; one sister, two brothers and six grandchildren.

Gail Inoue

Gail Emiko Onuma Inoue, 66, of Hilo, died May 5, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired department assistant for the Hawaii State Department of Human Services Med-Quest Division and member of Hawaii Government Employees Association and Niigata Kenjinkai.

She is survived by sons, Branden Inoue of Honolulu, Gavin Inoue of Hilo; brothers, Tom Onuma of Missouri, Masayoshi (Jane) Onuma of Hilo; sisters, Chiyoko (Leslie) Takenaka of Honolulu, Edith (Rodney) Nishino of Hilo, Patsy (Terrance) Nakamura of Kaneohe, Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews.

James Parker

James Owen Parker, 60, of Pahoa, died March 30, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Seattle, Wash., he was a handyman and a Christian.
