No tsunami triggered by M-4.1 earthquake

KAILUA-KONA — A magnitude-4.1 earthquake that struck this morning off the Hamakua Coast was not large enough to trigger a tsunami for Hawaii Island.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the temblor, recorded at 10:29 a.m. off the Hamakua Coast, did not trigger a tsunami though residents may have experienced shaking. It had a registered depth of 1 mile.
