Henri-Ann Nagata

Henri-Ann Kuuleinani Nagata, 60, of Captain Cook, died May 3, 2018, at her residence. Born Feb. 16, 1958, in Kukuiopae, she was a custodian at Konawaena Elementary School. She was a member of the Buddhist Women’s Association, Ikebana, Kona Kumamoto Kenjin Kai, and Kona Japanese Civic Association.

Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. June 10 at Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Kealakekua and a memorial service will be 11 a.m. Casual attire and no flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Morris Nagata of Captain Cook; daughter, Morri-Ann (Matthew Pekelo-Chang) Nagata of Pearl City, Oahu; brothers, Arnold (Frances) Haalilio of Papaikou, David (Lorie-Ann) Haalilio of Kealakekua, Wilfred (Maggie) Haalilio of Honaunau; sisters, Charlotte Rodrigues of Kealakekua, Nellie Takahashi of Honolulu, Geraldine Rivera of Holualoa, and Jasmine Angeleo of Las Vegas; three sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tom Harper

Tom Gordon Harper, 76, of Captain Cook, died May 31, 2018, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born Aug. 21, 1941, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, he was a businessman in the health supplements industry.

A graveside burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 10 at Christ Church Episcopal in Kealakekua, with church service to follow.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Harper of Captain Cook; son, Tony Harper of Canada; daughter, Tiffany (Derek) Haarsma of Canada; stepson, Greg (Veronica) Klimek of Canada; stepdaughter, Agnes (Adam) Coronica of Canada; brother, Joe Harper of Canada; sister, June Herrington of Canada; numerous grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Alvin Akamine

Alvin Hisao Akamine, 65, of Ainaloa, died May 16, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. June 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Marilou Akamine of Ainaloa; son, Jake Akamine of Ainaloa; daughter, Jamie (Elliott) Sugai of Kurtistown; mother, Dorothy Akamine of Hilo; sisters, Karin Akamine of Hilo, Joyce Akamine of Honolulu, Mona (Fred) Tavares of Hilo; nieces, nephews and cousins.

George Branco Jr.

George Branco Jr., 68, of Honokaa, died April 26, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 8, 1950, in Haina, he was a retired groundskeeper for the County of Hawaii and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

A graveside service and urn burial will be held at 4 p.m. on June 8 at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery.

He is survived by brother, Clinton Branco of Honokaa; sister, Diane Labrador of Honokaa; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Robinson Seguancia

Robinson Kon Seguancia, Sr., 72, of Kailua-Kona, died May 25, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born on Dec. 11, 1945, in Honolulu, he was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and a member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). He was a mechanic for E.M. Rivera, Polynesian Adventure Tours, Kona Hose, All Hawaii Tours; and a machinist for Hawaii Motor Rebuilders.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 9 a.m. June 14 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his wife, Clenna Seguancia of Kailua-Kona; sons, Robinson (Corrine) Seguancia Jr. and Robenson Noah Seguancia of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Robin (Teddy) Rowell of Brentwood, Calif., Rebecca Seguancia, Rachel (Abraham) Kaaihue, Ruth Seguancia, all of Kailua-Kona; hanai son, Jeffrey Bejang of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughter, Marcianna (Mauricio) Rodriguez of Honomalino; brothers, Stephen (Sylvia) Seguancia, Sr. of Rialto, Calif., Calvin (Patricia) Seguancia, Sr. of Honolulu; sister, Caroline Lane of Honolulu; 20 grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
