Rodolfo Aurello Sr.

Rodolfo Marvin Aurello, Sr, 60, of Kamuela, died May 9, 2018, in Kamuela. Born Nov. 21, 1957, in Honokaa, he worked as an electrical engineer.

Friends may call 1 p.m. June 8 at Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo for a 2 p.m. funeral service.

Mabel Jaentsch

Mabel “Momi” Kealaula Kailihou Jaentsch, 89, died on March 30, 2018, at Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Lahaina, she was a retired LPN from the Rehabilitation Center of the Pacific, Artistic Painter, UH-Hilo Alumnus, member of the Hilo Church of God and the East Hawaii Arts and Cultural Center.

Memorial services will be 9 a.m. June 9 at Hilo Church of God, 671 Waianuenue Ave. Casual attire.

She is survived by son, Phillip (Arlene) Jaentsch of Kailua-Kona; and daughters, Jacqueline Jaentsch of Klamath Falls, Ore., Donnalyn Kalei of Hilo, Debra Ann (Donald) Leopoldo of Hilo, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Sally Visaya

Sally Visaya, 75, of Hilo, died May 12, 2018, at Hawaii Care Choices formerly Hospice of Hilo. Born Feb. 28, 1943, in Paauilo, she was a retired salesperson for a retail clothing store in Hilo and a member of the New Hope Hilo and Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association.

Friends may call from 4-5 p.m. June 9 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 5 p.m. memorial service. Casual attire and omit flowers. Urn committal will be at a later date.

She is survived by daughters, Gail (Monte) North of Glendale, Ariz., Roberta (Alan) Tada and Sally Renee (Errick) Visaya of Hilo; hanai daughter, Jade Tsuge of Hilo; brothers, David (Jean) Lauro and Roy (Margaret) Nuniez of Keaau, Joseph (Julie) Lauro of Pepeekeo and Danny (Audrey) Lauro of Honolulu; sisters, Lorraine (Joe) Yadao of Kohala, Violet (Cerilo) Bueno of Honokaa and Linda (Arnold) Tengan of Hilo; five grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

William Manuwa

William “Black” Manuwa, 82, of Keaukaha, died May 28, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Lahaina, Maui, he was a retired construction laborer, U.S. Army Korean War veteran, and member of Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church and Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 368.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. June 8 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Barbara Manuwa of Keaukaha; children, William “Willy” Manuwa, Jr. of Hilo, Wendell (Nora) Manuwa of Phoenix, Kaleo (Shannon) Warfield of Waimea, Wade Manuwa of Huntington, W.V.; sisters, Theone Morgan of Waianae, Oahu, Ku’ulei (Vasega) Pili of Kaneohe, Oahu, Ernestine Milles of Ewa Beach, Oahu; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry Evangelista

Henry Evangelista, 82, of Papaaloa, died May 29, 2018. Born on Feb. 28, 1936, in Hilo, he retired as a tractor driver for Hamakua Sugar Co.

Friends may call from 8-9 a.m. June 9 at Honomu Catholic Church for a 9 a.m. celebration of life service. Burial will be 9 a.m. June 12 at Hawaii State Veteran Cemetery No. 2.

Doreen Melanie Jensen, 66 residing in Kamuela, died May 28, 2018, in Kamuela, Hawaii. Born Oct. 24, 1951, in Honolulu, she worked in hospitality at Hawaii resorts.

Bette Hallingstad

Mrs. Bette Jane Hallingstad died May 17, 2018, in the Alzheimer’s unit of Guardian Angel Home in Lewiston, Idaho. Born May 23, 1933, in Yakima, Wash., she moved to Kona in 1983 with her husband and was very active over the years in the Outdoor Circle.

Services are pending.

Bette is survived by husband, Jack Hallingstad; sons, Ken and Andy (Donna) Hallingstad of Kona; daughter, Kathy {Wayne} McCulley of Lewiston, Idaho; sister, Sue (Ray) Fousha of Texas; brother, Marvin Garrett of Nevada; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Roy Allen Wall, Jr.

Mr. Roy Allen Wall, Jr., 85, of Lehuula, died May 30, 2018, at his residence. Born on May 31, 1932, in Honolulu, he was owner and president of Wall Ranch. He was a Paniolo Hall of Fame inductee, member of Hawaii Cattlemen’s Association, a former president of the Kona Historical Society and a U.S. Army veteran.
