KAILUA-KONA — A 38-year-old man is dead after a suspected drowning in Waipio Valley this weekend.
The incident occurred on Sunday. Hawaii County Fire Department first received an alarm about a possible drowning victim at the beach in the valley. At about 12:01 p.m., the first unit arrived on scene to find bystanders were already performing CPR on the victim.
Fire personnel took over life-saving measures on the victim. However, they were unable to resuscitate the man.
