Ronney Nahale

Ronney Hokuloa Nahale, 45, of Kailua-Kona, died May 28, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 22, 1972, in Kealakekua, he was a laborer, fisherman and a farmer.

A celebration of life will be held 11:30 a.m. until sunset June 22 at Kahaluu Beach pavilion. Service at noon. Lunch refreshments and sunset dinner to follow. For information call or text 989-0229.

He is survived by mother, Carol Ann Moi Nahale-Nakamura of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Iwa Keanaaina of Kalaoa, Shalezar Nakila-Nahale, Kahea Nakila-Nahale; son, Makamae Nakila-Nahale all of Hilo; brother, Carlton (Samantha) Nakamura of Kailua-Kona; two grandchildren, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Wilfred Ah Tou

Wilfred Edmund Wakinikona Ah Tou, Sr., 82, of Kealia, died May 10, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born on Feb. 22, 1936, in Kealia, he was a retired electrician for Mauna Kea Electric Company, a former employee of the National Park Service at Puu Honua O Honaunau, a member of Local 1186, IBEW, Ala Kahakai Trail, St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

An all night vigil will be at 5 p.m. June 29 at the family’s residence at 85-4578 Mamalahoa Highway in Kealia. Visitation will continue at 8:30 a.m. June 30 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau for a 9:30 a.m. Mass with burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ah Tou of Kealia; sons, Thomas Ah Tou, Sr., Wilfred Ah Tou, Jr., and Mervyn Ah Tou, all of Kealia; stepsister, Veronica Lawa’I Ha’ae of South Kona; brothers, Adrian (Yuri) Ah Tou of Keaau, Thomas (Viola) Atou of Kauai, Samson (Jeannie) Ah Tou of Ewa Beach, Oahu, Norman (Monique) Enos of Honaunau, Alexander (Sandra) Enos of Middle Keei, and Bennett Enos of San Francisco; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Laureno Galban, Sr

Mr. Laureno “Larry” Galban, Sr., 97, of Honaunau, died May 21, 2018, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born on Feb. 16, 1921, in Cebu, Philippines, he was a farm hand for Masao Sunada Farms. He was a laborer and machine operator for Shintako Company.

Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. June 23 at Immaculate Conception Church in Holualoa for a 10 a.m. Mass with burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his sons, Laureno (Diane) Galban, Jr., of Ka’u, Wendell (Krissy) Galban of Honaunau, and Roland Galban of Ka’u; stepson, Dan (Mellissa) Gomes of Paradise Park; daughters, Laureen Antolin of Orange County, Calif. and Joycelyn (Al) Somera of Oahu; stepdaughters, Debbie (Charley) Young of Volcano and Donna Geraghty of Paradise Park; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clara Fuerte

Clara Ann Fuerte, 70, of Naalehu, died June 10, 2018, at Hawaii Care Choices. Born in Hilo, she was a retired supervisor for the former Ka’u Agribusiness Company and was a member of the Ka’u Roping and Riding Club and Naalehu Senior Center.

Friends may call 2-3 p.m. June 19 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; funeral service at 3. Casual attire.

She is survived by sons, Leonard (Cathy) Fuerte of Keaau, Jeffrey (Suzette) Fuerte of Kealakehe, Peter Fuerte of Ocean View; brother, Peter Kahikina, Jr. of New York; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
