Leroy Grady Jr.

Leroy Grady Jr., 87, of Keaau, died May 20, 2018. Born on March 5, 1931, in Alabama, he served in the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force, retired as a general contractor, building custom homes for Mr. Lee, and was a resident of Hawaii for over 40 years.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. June 22 at Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo, 570 Kinoole St. in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. service at 10:30am. Burial to follow at noon at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Online condolences: www.ballardfamilymortuaries.com.

He is survived by his sons, Gregory Grady of California, Fredrick Malcolm (Carolyn) Grady of California, Jeffery (Sadie) Grady of Mississippi, Leroy (Dr. Cassandra) Grady of California; daughters, Lynne (Greg) Horton of California, Donna Mayes of California; hanai family, Corrina Tiapula and Samuel Gomes Jr. of Keaau, and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Dora Sedeno

Dora Boralis Sedeno, 86, of Pahoa, died May 27, 2018, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born on June 12, 1931, in Honomu, she was a homemaker and a member of the Kinoole Baptist Church in Hilo. She also was a member of the Kohala Puerto Rican Social Club.

Friends call from 9-10:30 a.m. June 20 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 10:30 a.m. funeral service. Casual attire; burial at Homelani Memorial Park, section one.

She is survived by son, Sanford (Roslynn) Angel of Pahoa; daughters, Lorna (Tino) Miranda and Maxine (Larry) Cabral of Pahoa; sisters, Lillian Rodrigues of Oregon and Margaret (Doyce) Cotton of Florida; 10 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Judy Imai

Judy Junko Imai, 55, of Keaau, died May 16, 2018, at home. Born in Glenwood, she was a business partner for Amber’s Computers, homemaker and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Keaau Ward.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. June 22 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Ian Imai of Keaau; daughter, Amber (Daniel Hong) Imai-Hong of Keaau; brothers, Jerry (Sheila) Kaneshiro of Keaau, Harvy (Susan) Kaneshiro of Hilo, Kenneth Kaneshiro of Keaau; sister, May (Ernest) Gillespie of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews.

Marchuma Salomon

Marchuma “Mollie” Cabatoan Salomon, 87, of Kailua-Kona and formerly of Kukaiau, died June 3, 2018, at the North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Olaa, she was a homemaker, member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa, and a team member of the Pueo Hawaii Kupuna Softball team.

Visitation will take place from 8-9:30 a.m. June 22 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. with cremation to follow. Casual attire. Burial to take place at a later date at the Kukaiau County Cemetery.

She is survived by brother, Sylvester “Fish” (Edel) Madarang of Arizona; sister, Felisa “Fely” Rosario of Kohala; daughters, Marilyn (Bernie) Billena of Papaikou, Alberta Fox of Kailua-Kona, Teresa Salgado-Nakama of Kailua-Kona, Angela (Gary) Silva of Ookala, Marla (Samson) Rabang of Kohala; sons, Al “Black” Salomon of Kapehu, Alfred “Boysan” (Kathryn) Salomon of Kailua-Kona; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
