Leroy Lewi

Mr. Leroy Lihau Lewi, 60, of Kamuela, died April 26, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 12, 1957, in Hamakua, he was a groundskeeper and banquet porter at the former Kona Surf Resort. He was a mechanic helper at the Kona Country Club and a meat cutter for Island Pork Produce.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. June 24 at the Kona Palisades recreation center for an 11 a.m. celebration of life. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Lewi of Kailua-Kona; son, Kaleo (Aloha) of Holualoa; daughters, Lushanya (Dennis) Martin of Kailua-Kona, Lacey (Roman) Rodrigues of Las Vegas, Lennell Lewi of Kailua-Kona; brother, Karl Lewi of Nanakuli, Oahu; sister, Rebecca Zettler of Nanakuli, Oahu; four grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barbara Quanan

Mrs. Barbara M. Quanan, 84, of Kamuela, died June 8, 2018, at Emily’s Care Home of Kona. Born March 1, 1934, in Waimea, she was a housewife and a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea.

Visitation will be held at 7:30 a.m. June 30 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea for a 9 a.m. Mass followed by burial at the Mauna Kea Memorial Park Cemetery in Papaikou. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Eric) Dias of Kailua-Kona; son, Arsenio (Ann) Quanan of Waimea; brother, Jacinth (Yvonne) Deluz of Waimea; sisters, Betty Deluz, Shirley Deluz and Rose Hatakeyama, all of Waimea; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
