Antone Duarte

Antone “Jr.” William Duarte, 74, of Papaikou, died June 15, 2018, at Hawaii Care Choices. Born in Hilo, he was the owner of ADE Repairs.

Friends may call 5-6 p.m. June 29 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. A celebration of his life will begin at 6. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Antone William Duarte to either Hawaii Care Choice (formerly Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama) or the American Cancer Society.

He is survived by wife, Evelyn Duarte of Papaikou; daughters, Antoinette (Scotty) Leopoldino of Hilo, Melanie Duarte of Kona; sons, Kenneth (Jeanette) Olive of Cheyenne, Wyo., Edward (Christina) Olive of Hilo; brother, Wesley Duarte of Keaau; one sister-in-law; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dichao Shi

Dichao Shi, 28, of Kurtistown, died May 18, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in China. He was a member of the Christian Chinese Church of Hilo.

He is survived by mother and father, Hong Yan Dai and Meng Yuan Shi of Kurtistown.

Barbara Duke

Barbara Ellen Duke, 83, of Ocean View, died June 18, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 4, 1935, in La Junta, Colo., she was a retired art teacher and past president of Honaunau Senior Group.

She is survived by sons, Michael Talley of Ocean View, Patrick Talley, Brian (Terri) Talley all of Texas, Joel (Kellye) Talley of Colorado; brother, Leroy Pearson; sister, Martha (Lance) Buhman all of Texas; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one hanai grandson, numerous nieces and nephews.
