Ronald Aranita

Ronald “Ron” Manuel Aranita, 82, of Keaau, died June 3, 2018, at Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born on Jan. 25, 1936, in Kunia, he was a retired weather technician for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. He was also a member of Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Keaau Senior Golf Club.

Visitation will be held 8:15-9 a.m. on Friday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; funeral service at 9 a.m. with burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua section. Casual attire.

Survived by wife, Agustina “Tina” Aranita of Keaau; daughter, Theresa Ann (Frank) Galati of Los Angeles; son, Paul Aranita of Anchorage, Alaska; grandson, Frank John Galati of Los Angeles; sister, Rosita Aranita, C.S.J. of Honolulu; six sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

Louis Tarpley

Louis “Louie” Leilehua Tarpley, 79, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died June 13, 2018, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Puukapu, Waimea, on Jan 26, 1939, he was a crane operator for Waterworld and truck driver for Volcanite, Hawaiian Dredging, West Hawaii Concrete, Glover Ameron, and Soil Plus.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. July 14, 2018, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kona Stake Center in Kailua-Kona; memorial service at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Sonny) Apolo of Hilo; hanai son, Kyle (Michelle) Hooper of Waimea; hanai daughter, Wendy (Clifford) Medeiros of Kalaoa, Kona; stepsons, Shawn Ibarra of California, Joshua Mareko of Las Vegas, and Hoapili Naope of Kainaliu; stepdaughter, Yvette Ibarra-Keohuloa of Honolulu; hanai brothers, Junichi (Shirley) Nakamoto of Kealakekua, George Tamashiro of Kailua-Kona, Mel Kaneshiro of Waimea; ex-wife, Mary Tarpley of Kailua-Kona; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Errol Etsuo Kagimoto, 56, of Hilo, died June 12, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was the owner of Kagimoto’s.

Celebration of life from 2-5 p.m. Aug 12, at Aunty Sally Kaleohano’s Luau Hale, 799 Piilani St. in Hilo. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Kelly Kagimoto of Hilo; children, Chelsee (Jayton Fukuhara) Kagimoto, Maysee Kagimoto, Paige Kagimoto, Scottie (Tehani Galdeira) Kagimoto, Kobe Kagimoto, all of Hilo; mother, Betty Kagimoto of Hilo; sister, Cori (Armin) Wehrsig of Hilo; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy-Ann Hance

Dorothy-Ann Jean Hance, 86, of Waimea, died June 22 on Oahu. Born in Koloa, Kauai, she was a homemaker, member of the Daughters of Hawaii and a “mother to all.” A private celebration will take place at a later date.

Survived by husband, John “Skip” Hance of Keaau; daughters, Linda (Peter) Baldwin of Poipu, Chris Hughes of Chicago, Katherin Nalani Hance of Auhaloa, Julie Hance of Keaau, Tricia (Tony) Cruz of Keaau; son, John “Tom” (Sara) Hance of California; brother, Dan “Chub” (Maria) Foster of California; 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
