The public is invited to a moderated candidate forum 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the West Hawaii Civic Center Council Chambers for the candidates for County Council District 7 (Portion of Kealakekua, Kona Scenic Subdivision, Kainaliu, Honalo, Keauhou, Kahaluu, Holualoa, Kona Hillcrest, Pualani Estates, Sunset View, Kuakini Heights, Kona Vistas, Alii Heights, Kona Industrial, Lono Kona). All four candidates in this nonpartisan race will participate: Kelly Drysdale, Bronston Kalei Kossow, Cynthia Nazara, and Rebecca Shute Villegas.

None of the candidates have held elected office before.

The forum is sponsored by Community Forums and the Hawaii County League of Women Voters. Questions will be taken from the public in advance at westhawaiiforum.org (via an online form), or email to info@westhawaiiforum.org, or bring questions in person to the forum. The moderator, who will pose all questions to the candidates, will be Sherry Bracken, of Mahalo Broadcasting (LAVA 105.3 fm and KKOA 107.7 fm) and Hawaii Public Radio.

The forum will be streamed live at Facebook.com/westhawaiiforums and also be filmed for later broadcast on NaLeo TV.

McDonald’s is generously providing coffee and snacks. The League of Women Voters will have forms for voter registration, requests for absentee ballots, and change of address.
